Meet The Author
When I was a little girl, I really wanted to be a telephone operator. You know, the lady who got to plug all those little cords into the switchboard? After my dad dashed my dreams by telling me it was all done by computers, I decided to be a teacher. I have taught in public school, preschool, and homeschool for over 25 years. I have read thousands of books to children (and love doing it!). I have had hundreds of ideas for writing books of my own. This time, my dreams will not be dashed. So...it doesn't involve plugging little cords into a switchboard, but it does involve writing children's books.
Cassie, Who is Sometimes Sassy is my first book. Subscribe below and keep up with my latest projects.

Cassie, Who is Sometimes Sassy
Meet Cassie. Cassie loves to wear her lightning bolt leggings and isn't afraid to speak up. It's fun feeling sassy! But....well...sometimes the words that come out of her mouth sound sassy too. And that doesn't go over too well with her family.
I'm so excited to share with you the book I have written about Cassie and her family as Cassie learns to speak in a way that lets others know what she wants and needs, while still being respectful. It's a lesson all children, even the sassy ones, have to learn.

Readers will join Cassie as she interacts with her family in different situations. In this scene you will find out how her brother reacts when Cassie is just a little too sassy after falling down. Even brothers and sisters prefer to be spoken to kindly!
Children will enjoy the colorful illustrations and pattern of the book. It's easier to learn a lesson about speaking respectfully when Cassie is the one learning it.
Parents will appreciate the lessons Cassie learns throughout. (And they might recognize their own facial expressions on Mom and Dad!)

Meet The Illustrator
I'm so pleased to introduce you to the illustrator who brought Cassie and her family to life! Krystal Davenport is from Texas and recently graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design in Florida. She enjoys illustrating people mostly but also enjoys packaging design and children's books. In the future, she hopes to either work for a publishing house as an illustrator or work in branding and product design. You can find her and more of her work on Instagram (username: davenportillustration) or check out her website here.
