Many years ago I wrote a book for my oldest daughter. She was around 8 or 9 when I wrote it and she was delighted. It was made out of printer paper, neon card stock, and tied with yarn--a real work of art!
I've wanted to publish that story for years, but some changes would have to be made. Things like historical accuracy, plagiarism, and plot consistency don't matter as much when you are writing a book for a child as they do when you publish that book. Also, the world changes in fifteen years and some things that were A-OK back then, don't work so well today.
I'm so excited to share this new (yet old) project with you. Subscribe below for updates and follow along on this new journey with me.
Meet The Author
When I was a little girl, I really wanted to be a telephone operator. You know, the lady who got to plug all those little cords into the switchboard? After my dad dashed my dreams by telling me it was all done by computers, I decided to be a teacher. I have taught in public school, preschool, and homeschool for over 25 years. I have read thousands of books to children (and love doing it!). I have had hundreds of ideas for writing books of my own. This time, my dreams will not be dashed. So...it doesn't involve plugging little cords into a switchboard, but it does involve writing books.
Cassie, Who is Sometimes Sassy is my first book. Subscribe below and keep up with my latest projects.

Meet the Illustrator
I'm so pleased to introduce you to the illustrator who brought Cassie and her family to life! Krystal Davenport is from Texas and recently graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design in Florida. She enjoys illustrating people mostly but also enjoys packaging design and children's books. In the future, she hopes to either work for a publishing house as an illustrator or work in branding and product design. You can find her and more of her work on Instagram (username: davenportillustration) or check out her website here.
