I recently came across this quote:
"There are decades when nothing happens. There are weeks when decades happen."
I wish I could give proper attribution to this thought, but I cannot. Boy, is it ever true though!
I am happy to say that my first published book, Cassie, Who is Sometimes Sassy, will be completely finished in less than a year. I am also amazed that it took that long. It didn't need to, but...I have other things I do in my life.
To say that I am a "part-time author" would be QUITE a stretch. That would imply that I spend 20 hours a week working as an author. I suppose you could truthfully say, "she spends part of her time being an author." That much is true.
And then, all of a sudden, everything started coming together. Just like cable spool rolling downhill, it got faster right there at the end. (Oh, did you think I should have said "snowball" instead of "cable spool"? Well, that's a story for another time. But I can assure you that cable spools roll really fast near the bottom of the hill and that where I live we know nothing of snow.)
I am over here happily putting countdown dates on my calendar for the book launch. Are you ready for this? NEXT WEEK! Folks! Your wait, and mine, is almost over. Thank you to everyone who was excited for this project and encouraged me along the way. I learned so much and that's good since I have no plans to stop being an author part of the time.
